This Cookie Policy is provided pursuant to Article 122 of Legislative Decree No. 196/2003 ("Privacy Code"), which implements Directive 2002/58/EC ("ePrivacy Directive"), to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR"), and to the "Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools" issued by the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) on 10 June 2021.

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, which ones we use on this website, for what purposes, and how you can manage your preferences. It supplements, and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy (https://www.letstay.it/privacy-policy), which governs the processing of your personal data more generally.

1. Data Controller
The Data Controller is Letstay S.r.l., with registered office at Via Principe Nicola 76, 95126 Catania (CT), Italy.
(hereinafter, the "Data Controller").

2. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) to store information, for example about your preferences or your browsing activity. Similar technologies (such as pixels, web beacons, local storage, and software development kits) perform comparable functions and are treated in the same way as cookies under this Policy.
Cookies may be distinguished according to:
  • Provider — first-party cookies, set directly by this website, and third-party cookies, set by domains other than ours (e.g., service providers whose tools are embedded in our pages).
  • Duration — session cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, and persistent cookies, which remain on your device for a defined period.
  • Purpose — technical cookies, which are necessary for the website to function, and non-technical cookies (functional, analytics, performance, and advertising/profiling), which are used for additional purposes and require your consent.

3. How we obtain and manage your consent (Consent Management Platform)
To collect, record, and manage your cookie preferences we use a Consent Management Platform (CMP).
When you first visit the website, a cookie banner is displayed allowing you to:
  • accept all cookies;
  • reject all non-essential cookies; or
  • customise your choices, granularly enabling or disabling each category of non-technical cookies.
In accordance with the Garante's Guidelines of 10 June 2021, rejecting cookies is as easy as accepting them, closing the banner (via the "X") is treated as a refusal, mere scrolling does not constitute consent, and access to the website is not conditional upon granting consent (no "cookie wall").
Until you provide your consent, only strictly necessary (technical) cookies are set. Non-technical cookies and third-party scripts are blocked in advance (auto-blocking) and are activated only after, and to the extent of, the consent you provide. Your choices are recorded to build an audit trail of the consent obtained, and the banner is not shown again at every visit: it reappears when your consent expires or when the categories of cookies used on the website change.
To store your preferences, the Consent Management Platform sets the strictly necessary cookies described in Section 5 below.

4. Categories of cookies we use
The cookies used on this website fall into the following categories, consistent with the categories shown in the cookie banner.
  • Strictly necessary (technical) cookies. These are essential for the website to function correctly, to enable navigation and basic features, to ensure security, and to store your cookie preferences. Pursuant to Article 122 of the Privacy Code, these cookies do not require your consent and cannot be disabled through the banner.
  • Functional cookies. These enable additional features and personalisation (for example, remembering choices you have made). They are set only with your consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR).
  • Analytics and performance cookies. These help us understand how visitors interact with the website (e.g., most visited pages, errors) in order to measure and improve its performance. As a rule, they are set only with your consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR). Only where such tools are configured so as to be equivalent to technical cookies — first party, with the IP address anonymised, without combination or enrichment with other data or cross-site tracking, and without sharing with third parties — may they, in line with the Garante's Guidelines, be set without consent.
  • Advertising and profiling cookies. These are used to deliver advertising tailored to your interests and to measure the effectiveness of campaigns, including through profiling. They are set only with your consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR).
  • Uncategorised cookies. Newly detected cookies that have not yet been classified. These are kept blocked pending categorisation.

5. Detailed list of cookies
The complete and up-to-date list of the cookies actually in use — including, for each cookie, its name, provider/domain, category, duration, and purpose — is generated automatically by the Consent Management Platform, kept up to date through periodic scans of the website, and is available at any time in the cookie preference panel accessible via the banner and the "Manage consent" control.
The strictly necessary cookies set by the Consent Management Platform are the following:
  • consent — first party; duration up to 12 months. Stores your cookie consent decisions (accepted and rejected categories), the timestamp of the decision, and the version of the policy under which consent was given. It does not track your activity, does not collect data for analytics or advertising, and does not share data with third parties.
  • action — first party; session/short-lived. Records the action taken on the banner so that the correct consent state is applied.
  • consent — first party; duration up to 12 months. Legacy cookie that stores the user's consent status.
The cookies listed above are those of the Consent Management Platform itself. All other cookies — functional, analytics, performance, or advertising — depend on the specific tools that may be active on the website from time to time; their current details are shown in the cookie preference panel referred to above.

6. Third-party cookies
Some cookies may be set by third parties whose services are integrated into our pages (for example, analytics, embedded maps or videos, social media features, or booking widgets). We do not control the cookies set by these third parties, nor the information they collect. We therefore invite you to consult the relevant privacy and cookie policies of each provider. The third-party services actually in use, together with links to their respective policies, are indicated in the cookie preference panel referred to in Section 5.

7. How to manage or withdraw your consent
You can review and change your choices at any time, using the following methods:
Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out on the basis of consent before its withdrawal.

8. Retention of consent
Your consent to non-technical cookies is recorded and retained for a period of up to 12 months, after which the banner is displayed again so that you may renew or amend your choices. The banner is also displayed again whenever the cookies used on the website change.

9. Your rights
In relation to the processing carried out through cookies, you may exercise the rights provided for by Articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection) and withdraw your consent at any time, as described in Section 7. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (Piazza Venezia n. 11, 00187 Rome — www.garanteprivacy.it).
